Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B
ValueB NeedA- TradesB FutureC-
The Jets drew a line under the quarterback search with Ward: B.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Jets took Kai Kroeger a full 76 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

Everything downstream of Cam Ward depends on Cam Ward, and the building knows it. Getting Warren where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In the Round 1 slot they get a franchise quarterback. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick42 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Tyler Warren in slot 42, plain and simple. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick94 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
Steal is underselling it; Andrew Mukuba at pick No. 94 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick157 Rnd5 JJ Pegues
JJ Pegues at the 157th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick188 Rnd6 Kai Kroeger
Kai Kroeger at No. 188 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
