Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B
ValueC NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
The Jets bet the future on Nix. The board says B.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Jets spent their marquee pick on Bo Nix, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

If Holani pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. On value alone, Jones makes the weekend a net positive.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Bo Nix
In pick 15 they get a long-term answer under center, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick46 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in the Round 2 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick72 Rnd3 Xavier Worthy
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Xavier Worthy in pick No. 72. It fills a real need, too.
Pick111 Rnd4 Johnny Wilson
A premium they did not need to pay, Johnny Wilson a notch or two before his time. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick143 Rnd5 Roger Rosengarten
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Roger Rosengarten. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick185 Rnd6 Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones at Round 6, Pick 10 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick218 Rnd6 Nathaniel Watson
Nathaniel Watson is a better player than slot 218 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick256 Rnd7 George Holani
George Holani at No. 256 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick257 Rnd7 Trey Taylor
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Trey Taylor well ahead of where he belonged. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
