The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Jets reached some 62 spots for DeMonte Capehart, and value like that does not grow back.

Whatever Michael Penix Jr. becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. On value alone, Bullard makes the weekend a net positive.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
