Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The Jets let Harden fall and pounced. Final grade: B+.

Call it larceny. Myles Harden sat on the board until No. 256, and the Jets did not need to be asked twice. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

They are betting Spann-Ford proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The Jets paired the rookies with proven help, Greg Newsome II leading the way.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick36 Rnd2 J.J. McCarthy
J.J. McCarthy at slot 36 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick49 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
They did well to land T'Vondre Sweat in pick 49, just ahead of his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick54 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper in the 54th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick72 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
Mike Sainristil at pick No. 72 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick135 Rnd4 Jamari Thrash
Fair-plus on Jamari Thrash, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick239 Rnd7 Brevyn Spann-Ford
Brevyn Spann-Ford at Round 7, Pick 19 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick256 Rnd7 Myles Harden
A cornerback of that caliber at No. 256 is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick257 Rnd7 Miyan Williams
A tidy little value on Miyan Williams in the 257th overall pick, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
