Draft Grade — Jets
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB
The Jets let Fitzgerald fall and pounced. Final grade: D.

Thirty-one other rooms let Ryan Fitzgerald slide, and the Jets were the ones holding the card at No. 209. Highway robbery.

Ewers has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The trade table is where this weekend went wrong.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Tetairoa McMillan
In Round 1, Pick 7 they get a home-run threat at receiver. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick42 Rnd2 Kenneth Grant
Kenneth Grant in the Round 2 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick51 Rnd2 Quinn Ewers
A real head-scratcher, Quinn Ewers in pick No. 51 is miles ahead of his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick85 Rnd3 Omarion Hampton
They barely believed it either: Omarion Hampton still on the board at the 85th overall pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick92 Rnd3 Aeneas Peebles
Nothing to complain about; Aeneas Peebles went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick97 Rnd3 Harold Fannin Jr.
Steal is underselling it; Harold Fannin Jr. at slot 97 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick109 Rnd4 Carson Schwesinger
Somehow Carson Schwesinger was still sitting there in pick 109, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick140 Rnd5 Logan Brown
Logan Brown in No. 140 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick146 Rnd5 Pat Bryant
Pat Bryant at Round 5, Pick 7 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick157 Rnd5 Jason Marshall Jr.
They reached into another round for Jason Marshall Jr., and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick188 Rnd6 Jeffrey Bassa
The board fumbled Jeffrey Bassa all the way to the 188th overall pick, and they scooped it up. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick209 Rnd6 Ryan Fitzgerald
Circle this one: Ryan Fitzgerald at pick No. 209 is a fall that decides a draft. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
