Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Jets let Edwards fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-.

You could see the war room lean forward. Daijun Edwards at the Round 7 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

They will need Murphy to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick10 Rnd1 Taliese Fuaga
They took Taliese Fuaga at par in No. 10, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Pick72 Rnd3 Keon Coleman
Taking Keon Coleman in the 72nd overall pick is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick111 Rnd4 Michael Pratt
Michael Pratt at the Round 4 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick135 Rnd4 Tommy Eichenberg
A reach on Tommy Eichenberg in slot 135; the board had better options right there. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick185 Rnd6 Myles Murphy
A wild overpay on Myles Murphy in the 185th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick256 Rnd7 Daijun Edwards
Daijun Edwards in Round 7, Pick 36 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick257 Rnd7 Tylan Grable
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Tylan Grable in pick No. 257, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
