DB DRAFTING FOR THEJets

Draft Grade — Jets

Good, not great, for the Jets: B-. The tape said wait; the Jets did not. JJ Pegues went at slot 162, a good 22 picks before the board was ready. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Milroe pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren at Round 1, Pick 7 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick42
Rnd2
Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams in pick 42 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick73
Rnd3
Jack Bech
Jack Bech in slot 73 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick110
Rnd4
Jalen Milroe
The board had Jalen Milroe higher than the 110th overall pick, and the quarterback fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick145
Rnd5
Malachi Moore
They did well to land Malachi Moore in No. 145, just ahead of his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick162
Rnd5
JJ Pegues
They reached a country mile for JJ Pegues at the 162nd pick, and the board is aghast. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick186
Rnd6
Jack Kiser
A clean, defensible pick in the 186th pick with a little surplus value in Jack Kiser. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
