Jesseeee DRAFTING FOR THECardinals
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall
B-
ValueC

FutureB-
The Cardinals robbed the room for Jones Jr.. Final grade: B-. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Emery Jones Jr. got past him. The Cardinals do not have to explain a thing at the 153rd overall pick. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. They will need Walker to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick16
Rnd1
Mike Green
In pick 16 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick47
Rnd2
Deone Walker
They went early on Deone Walker in Round 2, Pick 15, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick78
Rnd3
Isaiah Bond
Isaiah Bond at the 78th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick114
Rnd4
Jeffrey Bassa
A reach on Jeffrey Bassa in the 114th overall pick; the board had better options right there. It fills a real need, too.
Pick153
Rnd5
Emery Jones Jr.
They will replay Emery Jones Jr. at No. 153 for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
