Draft Grade — Giants
Overall D-
ValueB+ NeedB TradesF FutureD
The Giants bet the future on Beck. The board says D-.

The Davin Vann pick is the one that will follow the Giants into the fall. They took him 49 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. It grades a D-, and the process earned it.

The whole projection now runs through Carson Beck; hit there and everything else looks smarter. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere.

A whole weekend of picks and safety is somehow still a want. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Allar.

Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, safety very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Carson Beck
In No. 4 they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick17 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In pick 17 they get protection for the quarterback at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick19 Rnd1 Luther Burden III
Luther Burden III in the Round 1 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick20 Rnd1 Tacario Davis
In slot 20 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick38 Rnd2 Kenneth Grant
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kenneth Grant in the 38th pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick56 Rnd2 Quinshon Judkins
Steal is underselling it; Quinshon Judkins at the 56th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick70 Rnd3 Princely Umanmielen
You do not let an edge rusher like Princely Umanmielen reach Round 3, Pick 6 and blink. They did not. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick102 Rnd4 Drew Allar
Somehow Drew Allar was still sitting there in pick 102, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick114 Rnd4 Clay Webb
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 114th pick is the definition of value, full stop. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick134 Rnd5 Fernando Carmona Jr.
Fernando Carmona Jr. slipping to the 134th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick139 Rnd5 Collin Oliver
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Collin Oliver at No. 139. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick166 Rnd6 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun in slot 166 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick198 Rnd7 Theo Wease Jr.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 7 slot, where Theo Wease Jr. graded well above the range. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick219 Rnd7 Mason Taylor
Fair-plus on Mason Taylor, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick220 Rnd7 J.J. Weaver
J.J. Weaver at No. 220 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick221 Rnd7 Davin Vann
They left a pile of value on the table to take Davin Vann this early at slot 221. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
