The Giants found their guy under center in Beck: D.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Giants did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

Milroe at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. So much rides on Carson Beck that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. Reaching for Wohler left real value on the table behind him.

The Grant Delpit pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
