The Giants let McCormick fall into their laps, and walked away with a D-. Somebody in No. 249 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Giants sat still while Mason McCormick, the No. 159 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Too much went sideways, and the D- is the honest tally.
They will need Schrader to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The trade table is where this weekend went wrong.
It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.
