Draft Grade — Giants
Overall

FutureB-
The Giants won the night they stopped Muhammad from sliding. Grade: A-. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Giants were there to profit. Jabbar Muhammad, the No. 31 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 109th overall pick.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. Adding Isaac Seumalo by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies. They went 9 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
It is a haul that will look even better come September.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Deone Walker
Deone Walker at the Round 1 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick22
Rnd1
Benjamin Morrison
In the 22nd overall pick they get a potential shutdown corner at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38
Rnd2
Luther Burden III
Somehow Luther Burden III was still sitting there in slot 38, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick70
Rnd3
Conner Weigman
Conner Weigman in the 70th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.
Pick77
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson in No. 77 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick109
Rnd4
Jabbar Muhammad
Jabbar Muhammad at pick 109 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick110
Rnd4
Jalen Milroe
They robbed the room for Jalen Milroe here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick111
Rnd4
Oronde Gadsden II
Nothing to complain about; Oronde Gadsden II went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick134
Rnd5
Donovan Jackson
Steal is underselling it; Donovan Jackson at slot 134 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick166
Rnd6
J.J. Weaver
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 166, where J.J. Weaver graded well above the range. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick198
Rnd7
Andrew Mukuba
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Andrew Mukuba in No. 198, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
