Draft Grade — Giants

FutureB-
The Giants bet the future on Beck. The board says D. The war room fell hard for Davin Vann, and it showed at the Round 7 slot: 58 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.
Carson Beck gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back.
That Williams pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and safety is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Carson Beck
In the 5th pick they get a franchise quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick6
Rnd1
Will Campbell
Will Campbell in the 6th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick38
Rnd2
Benjamin Morrison
They barely believed it either: Benjamin Morrison still on the board at pick 38. It fills a real need, too.
Pick70
Rnd3
Ashton Jeanty
They will replay Ashton Jeanty at pick No. 70 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick102
Rnd4
Mykel Williams
Somehow Mykel Williams was still sitting there in the Round 4 slot, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick134
Rnd5
J.C. Davis
A offensive lineman of that caliber at No. 134 is the definition of value, full stop. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick139
Rnd5
Collin Oliver
Collin Oliver at pick 139 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick166
Rnd6
Moose Muhammad III
By-the-book stuff, Moose Muhammad III at the 166th pick squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick167
Rnd6
Jaeden Roberts
Fair-plus on Jaeden Roberts, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick198
Rnd7
Davin Vann
They reached a country mile for Davin Vann at Round 7, Pick 6, and the board is aghast. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick199
Rnd7
Oronde Gadsden II
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Oronde Gadsden II well ahead of where he belonged. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick219
Rnd7
Zane Durant
This one needs a full-page explanation: Zane Durant in the 219th overall pick, miles early. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
