Draft Grade — Giants
Overall A-
ValueA NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The Giants let Ewers fall and pounced. Final grade: A-.

Somebody in pick 76 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Giants sat still while Quinn Ewers, the No. 11 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Richie Grant gives the group a proven body among the projects.

In the end it comes back to James Pearce Jr., and a haul good enough to build on right away.

Pick Analysis
Pick21 Rnd1 Will Johnson
In the 21st overall pick they get a sticky cover corner, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick25 Rnd1 James Pearce Jr.
In pick 25 they get a bendy edge with upside, outstanding value to boot.
Pick38 Rnd2 Carson Beck
A top-tier quarterback at a bargain, Carson Beck in pick No. 38, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick53 Rnd2 Benjamin Morrison
They barely believed it either: Benjamin Morrison still on the board at the Round 2 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick76 Rnd3 Quinn Ewers
Somehow Quinn Ewers was still sitting there in the 76th pick, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick102 Rnd4 Luke Lachey
Luke Lachey in slot 102 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick117 Rnd4 Jaxson Dart
They robbed the room for Jaxson Dart here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It fills a real need, too.
Pick127 Rnd4 Oscar Delp
Taking Oscar Delp in No. 127 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick134 Rnd5 Trey Zuhn III
They will replay Trey Zuhn III at No. 134 for years; that is how good the value is. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick139 Rnd5 CJ Daniels
A straight-up fair deal on CJ Daniels at pick 139, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick159 Rnd5 Nick Emmanwori
A safety of that caliber at the Round 5 slot is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick166 Rnd6 Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser at slot 166 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick191 Rnd6 Barion Brown
You do not let a wide receiver like Barion Brown reach the 191st pick and blink. They did not. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick198 Rnd7 Marques Cox
The board fumbled Marques Cox all the way to Round 7, Pick 6, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick219 Rnd7 Dorian Strong
They read the board right and Dorian Strong was the payoff at pick No. 219. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
