Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B+
ValueA- NeedB TradesA+ FutureC+
A passer of the future in Ewers, and a B+, for the Giants.

You build a draft on nights like this. Jalen Milroe had no business being available in the 139th overall pick, and the Giants did the only sane thing and turned in the card. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.

The whole projection now runs through Quinn Ewers; hit there and everything else looks smarter. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.

The Trayanum reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The DeShon Elliott deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 James Pearce Jr.
In No. 14 they get a bendy edge with upside at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick25 Rnd1 Quinn Ewers
In the Round 1 slot they get a long-term answer under center, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick38 Rnd2 Colston Loveland
Somehow Colston Loveland was still sitting there in pick No. 38, and they pounced on premier tight end value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick70 Rnd3 Jabbar Muhammad
They barely believed it either: Jabbar Muhammad still on the board at the 70th pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick78 Rnd3 Xavier Watts
A safety of that caliber at the 78th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick86 Rnd3 JT Tuimoloau
The board fumbled JT Tuimoloau all the way to Round 3, Pick 22, and they scooped it up. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick87 Rnd3 Jonah Savaiinaea
Jonah Savaiinaea in the Round 3 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick88 Rnd3 Drew Allar
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Drew Allar at pick 88 is the proof. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick102 Rnd4 Trey Zuhn III
They paid sticker price for Trey Zuhn III in slot 102, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick134 Rnd5 Jamon Dumas-Johnson
Circle this one: Jamon Dumas-Johnson at No. 134 is a fall that decides a draft. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick139 Rnd5 Jalen Milroe
Jalen Milroe at the 139th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The roster fit checks out.
Pick151 Rnd5 J. Michael Sturdivant
J. Michael Sturdivant at the Round 5 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick166 Rnd6 T.J. Sanders
T.J. Sanders in Round 6, Pick 6 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick196 Rnd7 Chip Trayanum
A conviction pick on Chip Trayanum at pick No. 196 that the board grades a round light. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick198 Rnd7 Zy Alexander
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Zy Alexander. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick219 Rnd7 Theo Wease Jr.
They took Theo Wease Jr. at par in the 219th pick, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
