Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B
ValueA- NeedB TradesC+ FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Giants and Nussmeier: B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Garrett Nussmeier tumbling to the Giants in the Round 7 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

On the needs board they went 9 of 9, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick21 Rnd1 Travis Hunter
In pick 21 they get a sticky cover corner at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick38 Rnd2 Landon Jackson
The board had Landon Jackson higher than the 38th overall pick, and the edge rusher fell to them anyway. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick46 Rnd2 Isaiah Bond
Value with a capital V on Isaiah Bond in slot 46, a genuine coup. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick53 Rnd2 Walter Nolen
They let Walter Nolen come to them and pounced at Round 2, Pick 21. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick70 Rnd3 Omarion Hampton
Omarion Hampton at pick No. 70 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick71 Rnd3 Mitchell Evans
Somehow Mitchell Evans was still sitting there in the 71st pick, and they pounced on premier tight end value. It fills a real need, too.
Pick72 Rnd3 Josh Conerly Jr.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the Round 3 slot is the definition of value, full stop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick102 Rnd4 Cameron Ward
Cameron Ward at No. 102 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick103 Rnd4 Josh Simmons
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Josh Simmons in pick No. 103, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick104 Rnd4 Drew Allar
Circle this one: Drew Allar at No. 104 is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick134 Rnd5 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori in the 134th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick135 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun is a better player than slot 135 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick139 Rnd5 Dasan McCullough
Dasan McCullough slipping to Round 5, Pick 11 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick166 Rnd6 Conner Weigman
Taking Conner Weigman in pick 166 is close to grand larceny; a quarterback that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick167 Rnd6 Noah Thomas
A reasonable price with a little left over, Noah Thomas in the 167th overall pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick168 Rnd6 T.J. Sanders
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on T.J. Sanders. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick198 Rnd7 Collin Oliver
You do not let a linebacker like Collin Oliver reach Round 7, Pick 6 and blink. They did not. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick199 Rnd7 Garrett Nussmeier
They will replay Garrett Nussmeier at slot 199 for years; that is how good the value is. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick200 Rnd7 Andrew Mukuba
They barely believed it either: Andrew Mukuba still on the board at the Round 7 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick202 Rnd7 Xavian Sorey Jr.
They took Xavian Sorey Jr. at par in the 202nd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick206 Rnd7 Tristan Leigh
They paid sticker price for Tristan Leigh in pick No. 206, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick213 Rnd7 Moose Muhammad III
No drama and no debate, Moose Muhammad III went about where he belonged in the 213th pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick219 Rnd7 Dominic Lovett
Dominic Lovett at pick 219 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
