Draft Grade — Giants
Overall D-
ValueA- NeedC+ TradesF FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Giants for Gray: D-.

Call it larceny. Joshua Gray sat on the board until the Round 7 slot, and the Giants did not need to be asked twice.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The Johnson pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at safety and cornerback.

Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Will Johnson
Of all the spots to shop, they chose defensive back. Will Johnson in the 6th pick leaves safety and cornerback for later.
Pick38 Rnd2 Jaxson Dart
Nice patience on Jaxson Dart, who had no business lasting to the Round 2 slot. It fills a real need, too.
Pick39 Rnd2 Kenneth Grant
Kenneth Grant slid further than he should have, and pick No. 39 is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick70 Rnd3 Danny Stutsman
Danny Stutsman in slot 70 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick82 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
A surprising call. With safety and cornerback still to address, they spent the 82nd overall pick on Andrew Mukuba, a defensive back they were not short of.
Pick102 Rnd4 Kobe Hudson
Circle this one: Kobe Hudson at No. 102 is a fall that decides a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick103 Rnd4 Jalen Milroe
Jalen Milroe at Round 4, Pick 7 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick104 Rnd4 Mitchell Evans
Mitchell Evans in pick 104 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick105 Rnd4 Raheim Sanders
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Raheim Sanders at pick No. 105 is the proof. The roster fit checks out.
Pick134 Rnd5 Xzavier Henderson
They will replay Xzavier Henderson at the Round 5 slot for years; that is how good the value is. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick139 Rnd5 Dani Dennis-Sutton
The board fumbled Dani Dennis-Sutton all the way to slot 139, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick166 Rnd6 Nick Emmanwori
Steal is underselling it; Nick Emmanwori at the 166th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A fine player at a spot low on the priority list.
Pick198 Rnd7 Gentry Williams
Gentry Williams at Round 7, Pick 6 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster reasoning here is anyone's guess.
Pick219 Rnd7 Joshua Gray
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick 219 is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
