The Lions did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Ajani Cornelius fell into pick 198. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

The Paul Jr. pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

On the needs board they went 4 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
