Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall

FutureC
The 49ers let Lawson fall and pounced. Final grade: B. The 49ers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Deontae Lawson fell into slot 92. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Nwankpa reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In Round 1, Pick 19 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick49
Rnd2
Caleb Banks
Good price on Caleb Banks in slot 49, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick63
Rnd2
Antonio Williams
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Antonio Williams at No. 63 is the proof. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick92
Rnd3
Deontae Lawson
Somehow Deontae Lawson was still sitting there in the 92nd pick, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick97
Rnd3
Connor Lew
They robbed the room for Connor Lew here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick126
Rnd4
Eli Raridon
They did well to land Eli Raridon in pick 126, just ahead of his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick127
Rnd4
J.C. Davis
A clean, defensible pick in the 127th overall pick with a little surplus value in J.C. Davis. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick166
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun in pick No. 166 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick169
Rnd5
Xavier Nwankpa
A conviction pick on Xavier Nwankpa at slot 169 that the board grades a round light. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick210
Rnd6
Harrison Wallace III
Taking Harrison Wallace III in the Round 6 slot is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
