The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Texans reached some 53 spots for Trey White, and value like that does not grow back.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Carter at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
