Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Jaguars checked most of the boxes and earned a B.

The Ar'maj Reed-Adams selection is the head-turner. The Jaguars reached 105 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

The Higgins steal is the beam this whole class leans on. For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Kelvin Banks Jr.
In pick No. 1 they get a cornerstone up front. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick35 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori in the 35th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick66 Rnd3 Jack Sawyer
Jack Sawyer at slot 66 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick92 Rnd3 Jake Majors
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jake Majors in pick 92, miles early. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick102 Rnd4 Ar'maj Reed-Adams
They left a pile of value on the table to take Ar'maj Reed-Adams this early at the Round 4 slot. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick129 Rnd4 Kevin Winston Jr.
A safety of that caliber at No. 129 is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick141 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
A big swing on Davison Igbinosun at No. 141, well ahead of any board in the building. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick178 Rnd6 Jay Higgins
The board fumbled Jay Higgins all the way to the 178th pick, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick196 Rnd6 Zach Rice
Zach Rice at slot 196 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick217 Rnd7 Jackson Hawes
They jumped the gun on Jackson Hawes, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
