Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall
B
ValueA

FutureB-
The Cardinals let Barron fall and pounced. Final grade: B. Somebody in pick No. 47 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Cardinals sat still while Jahdae Barron, the No. 14 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. They went 2 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick16
Rnd1
Kelvin Banks Jr.
In the 16th pick they get a long-term starter on the line at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick47
Rnd2
Jahdae Barron
Jahdae Barron at No. 47 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick78
Rnd3
Deontae Lawson
By-the-book stuff, Deontae Lawson at slot 78 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
