The rest of the league will want that one back. Jake Slaughter tumbling to the Dolphins in the 90th pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

Job largely done: quarterback settled and 8 of 8 of the wish list covered.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
