The Cowboys let Stockton fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Gunner Stockton, the No. 204 name on the board, stolen at the 225th overall pick. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

Reaching for McCullough left real value on the table behind him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

A wild overpay on Eric Rivers in No. 112, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.

They took Treydan Stukes at par in the 150th pick, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.

Nice patience on Lander Barton, who had no business lasting to Round 5, Pick 39. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

A slide stopped in the Round 6 slot, with Nolan Rucci worth more than the price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.

Dasan McCullough at pick 221 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The roster logic is harder to follow.
