Draft Grade — Chiefs

A solid, sensible weekend for the Chiefs: B-. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Le'Veon Moss at the 146th overall pick is 30 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
They will regret leaving offensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. That Murdock pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
David Bailey
In slot 9 they get a double-digit-sack hope. A real need, handled.
Pick40
Rnd2
Max Klare
Max Klare at pick No. 40 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick74
Rnd3
Anthony Lucas
They reached a country mile for Anthony Lucas at the Round 3 slot, and the board is aghast. The roster fit checks out.
Pick109
Rnd4
Deion Burks
Deion Burks at pick 109 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick146
Rnd5
Le'Veon Moss
They left a pile of value on the table to take Le'Veon Moss this early at Round 5, Pick 8. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick176
Rnd5
Red Murdock
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Red Murdock at the 176th pick is the proof. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
