Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesC FutureB+
The Falcons cashed the board's mistake on Wilson: B.

The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Roman Wilson, the 109th pick, roughly 27 picks past where he belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Jared Verse
In No. 11 they get juice off the edge at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick43 Rnd2 J.J. McCarthy
J.J. McCarthy in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick74 Rnd3 Kingsley Suamataia
They barely believed it either: Kingsley Suamataia still on the board at the 74th pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick109 Rnd4 Roman Wilson
Roman Wilson in Round 4, Pick 9 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick130 Rnd4 Johnny Dixon
Good price on Johnny Dixon in slot 130, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick145 Rnd5 Edefuan Ulofoshio
By-the-book stuff, Edefuan Ulofoshio at the 145th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Pick189 Rnd6 Aki Ogunbiyi
Fair-plus on Aki Ogunbiyi, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick201 Rnd6 Austin Stogner
They let Austin Stogner come to them and pounced at pick No. 201. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick244 Rnd7 Steele Chambers
Steele Chambers at the Round 7 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
