Draft Grade — Bears
Overall F
ValueB NeedB- TradesF FutureF
The Bears drew a line under the quarterback search with Williams: F.

The Bears lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.

Caleb Williams gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Bell has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

Jones falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

There is no spinning it; the board won this weekend going away.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
Pick9 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In pick 9 they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick52 Rnd2 Calen Bullock
Calen Bullock at the Round 2 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick75 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
By-the-book stuff, Cooper Beebe at the 75th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick110 Rnd4 Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson in No. 110 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick122 Rnd4 Jaheim Bell
A premium they did not need to pay, Jaheim Bell a notch or two before his time. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick146 Rnd5 Jarrian Jones
They will replay Jarrian Jones at slot 146 for years; that is how good the value is. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick198 Rnd6 De'Corian Clark
A clean, defensible pick in the 198th overall pick with a little surplus value in De'Corian Clark. The roster fit checks out.
