FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Packers. The Packers clearly saw something nobody else did in Demon Clowney, taking him 72 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Lew. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick58
Rnd2
Chris Johnson
A tidy bit of business in the 58th pick, where Chris Johnson graded well above the range. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick84
Rnd3
Darrell Jackson Jr.
They took Darrell Jackson Jr. at par in the Round 3 slot, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick99
Rnd3
Connor Lew
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Connor Lew in the 99th overall pick, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick120
Rnd4
Tacario Davis
Tacario Davis slid further than he should have, and No. 120 is lovely value for the cornerback. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick123
Rnd4
Max Iheanachor
They talked themselves into Max Iheanachor at pick No. 123, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick129
Rnd4
Ar'maj Reed-Adams
They paid sticker price for Ar'maj Reed-Adams in pick 129, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick133
Rnd4
Hezekiah Masses
Hezekiah Masses in pick 133 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick158
Rnd5
Jaydn Ott
No drama and no debate, Jaydn Ott went about where he belonged in slot 158. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick199
Rnd6
Will Kacmarek
Will Kacmarek at the 199th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick236
Rnd7
Xavian Sorey Jr.
A real head-scratcher, Xavian Sorey Jr. in No. 236 is miles ahead of his ranking. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick239
Rnd7
Tony Grimes
Fair-plus on Tony Grimes, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick254
Rnd7
Demon Clowney
Demon Clowney in Round 7, Pick 38 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick257
Rnd7
Jalil Farooq
A tidy little value on Jalil Farooq in the 257th overall pick, a step better than break-even. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
