Larceny in pick 84 lands the Packers a B, Slaughter and all.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Packers were there to profit. Jake Slaughter, the No. 51 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 84. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

If James pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick53 Rnd2 Dontay Corleone
Circle this one: Dontay Corleone at the Round 2 slot is a fall that decides a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick84 Rnd3 Jake Slaughter
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jake Slaughter reach Round 3, Pick 20 and blink. They did not. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick99 Rnd3 Keionte Scott
Taking Keionte Scott in the 99th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick120 Rnd4 Chase Bisontis
Nothing to complain about; Chase Bisontis went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick158 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
The board had Davison Igbinosun higher than pick No. 158, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick199 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
They paid sticker price for Trey Zuhn III in No. 199, and that is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick236 Rnd7 Kamran James
A wild overpay on Kamran James in slot 236, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick254 Rnd7 Will Kacmarek
A tidy bit of business in pick 254, where Will Kacmarek graded well above the range. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick257 Rnd7 Noah Thomas
Noah Thomas in the 257th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
