Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall
A-
ValueB

FutureA+
Best value of the weekend goes to the Raiders for Reed: A-. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jaylen Reed, the No. 188 name on the board, stolen at the 213th overall pick. They executed a plan and it shows in the A-.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Christian Kirk pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Jahdae Barron
In pick No. 25 they get a press-man option on the boundary at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick37
Rnd2
Luther Burden III
A tidy bit of business in Round 2, Pick 5, where Luther Burden III graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick58
Rnd2
TreVeyon Henderson
Fair-plus on TreVeyon Henderson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick68
Rnd3
Carson Schwesinger
Carson Schwesinger at No. 68 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick108
Rnd4
Anthony Belton
Anthony Belton in the 108th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick143
Rnd5
Kobe King
They let Kobe King come to them and pounced at the Round 5 slot. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick166
Rnd5
Tyler Shough
Steal is underselling it; Tyler Shough at the 166th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick180
Rnd6
Jake Briningstool
A slide stopped in pick 180, with Jake Briningstool worth more than the price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick213
Rnd6
Jaylen Reed
Somehow Jaylen Reed was still sitting there in pick 213, and they pounced on premier safety value. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick215
Rnd6
Ricky White III
By-the-book stuff, Ricky White III at the 215th pick squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick222
Rnd7
Alijah Huzzie
A tidy little value on Alijah Huzzie in Round 7, Pick 6, a step better than break-even. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
