Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Jaguars for Singer: B.

Somebody in pick 211 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Jaguars sat still while Dorian Singer, the No. 176 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Smith pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots.

Reaching for Kneeland left real value on the table behind him.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Amarius Mims
In slot 22 they get a blindside protector at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick54 Rnd2 Nate Wiggins
Nate Wiggins slid further than he should have, and Round 2, Pick 22 is lovely value for the cornerback. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick86 Rnd3 Maason Smith
Of all the spots to shop, they chose DT-EDGE. Maason Smith in pick 86 leaves interior defensive lineman, quarterback and other spots for later.
Pick96 Rnd3 Marshawn Kneeland
They jumped the gun on Marshawn Kneeland, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick113 Rnd4 Devontez Walker
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Devontez Walker at the 113th pick is the proof. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick122 Rnd4 Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks in pick No. 122 is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick159 Rnd5 Connor Colby
A straight-up fair deal on Connor Colby at No. 159, value and slot in agreement. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick200 Rnd6 Darius Robinson
They took Darius Robinson at par in the Round 6 slot, which is nothing to complain about. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick211 Rnd6 Dorian Singer
You do not let a wide receiver like Dorian Singer reach slot 211 and blink. They did not. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick243 Rnd7 Luke Reimer
Value with a capital V on Luke Reimer in the 243rd pick, a genuine coup. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
