The Jaguars did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Jaguars did exactly that with Ben Sinnott in pick No. 116. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. The Thomas Jr. pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Kool-Aid McKinstry
In pick 17 they get a lockdown presence outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick48 Rnd2 Brian Thomas Jr.
Brian Thomas Jr. at the 48th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick79 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
A straight-up fair deal on Cooper Beebe at Round 3, Pick 15, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick96 Rnd3 Tykee Smith
No edge and no loss on Tykee Smith in No. 96; it is a wash and a sensible one. It fills a real need, too.
Pick114 Rnd4 Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson in the Round 4 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick116 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
They talked themselves into Ben Sinnott at pick No. 116, and the board did not agree. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick155 Rnd5 Keith Randolph Jr.
Fair-plus on Keith Randolph Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick195 Rnd6 Rasheen Ali
A reasonable price with a little left over, Rasheen Ali in the 195th pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick211 Rnd6 Brian Ugwu
No drama and no debate, Brian Ugwu went about where he belonged in No. 211. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick237 Rnd7 Donovan Jennings
They paid sticker price for Donovan Jennings in slot 237, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
