Draft Grade — Jaguars

Best value of the weekend goes to the Jaguars for Majors: B. Thirty-one other rooms let Jake Majors slide, and the Jaguars were the ones holding the card at pick No. 124. Highway robbery. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Fairchild pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
They went 5 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Mason Graham
In pick No. 5 they get an anchor for the defensive front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick36
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
Malaki Starks in the 36th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
Pick70
Rnd3
Dylan Fairchild
Dylan Fairchild at slot 70 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick88
Rnd3
Maxwell Hairston
A premium they did not need to pay, Maxwell Hairston a notch or two before his time. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick105
Rnd4
Elic Ayomanor
Elic Ayomanor slipping to the Round 4 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick124
Rnd4
Jake Majors
Jake Majors at No. 124 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
