Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall D+
ValueB+ NeedB TradesF FutureA+
The Jaguars finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a D+.

Call it larceny. Sebastian Castro sat on the board until pick No. 178, and the Jaguars did not need to be asked twice. A D+ that will need time and luck to look better.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. They will need Nwankpa to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

So much rides on Shedeur Sanders that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, cornerback very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Shedeur Sanders
No edge and no loss on Shedeur Sanders in Round 1, Pick 2; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
Pick12 Rnd1 Tre Harris
In pick No. 12 they get a true top target. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick34 Rnd2 Malachi Moore
They will replay Malachi Moore at pick 34 for years; that is how good the value is. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick46 Rnd2 T.J. Sanders
They read the board right and T.J. Sanders was the payoff at the 46th pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick66 Rnd3 Omarion Hampton
Omarion Hampton in pick No. 66 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick92 Rnd3 Smael Mondon Jr.
Steal is underselling it; Smael Mondon Jr. at the Round 3 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick95 Rnd3 Tyler Warren
Circle this one: Tyler Warren at No. 95 is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick103 Rnd4 Jake Majors
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jake Majors reach slot 103 and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick128 Rnd4 Quinshon Judkins
Quinshon Judkins in the 128th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick139 Rnd5 Bear Alexander
Value said wait; Bear Alexander in Round 5, Pick 1 says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick152 Rnd5 Xavier Nwankpa
A real head-scratcher, Xavier Nwankpa in the 152nd pick is miles ahead of his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick178 Rnd6 Sebastian Castro
Sebastian Castro at slot 178 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick190 Rnd6 Miles Frazier
Miles Frazier at No. 190 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick192 Rnd6 Lander Barton
Lander Barton at pick 192 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick227 Rnd7 Kyren Lacy
Kyren Lacy at pick No. 227 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
