Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
The Jaguars checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

Hard to follow the map here. The Jaguars bypassed interior defensive lineman, safety and other spots to take Kris Jenkins at No. 48, a spot they had covered. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Landing Rosemy-Jacksaint that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Every board in the league had Wilson lower, and that gap is the story. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 3 of 9 of the wish list covered.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Jared Verse
In the 17th pick they get a bendy edge with upside. More want than need.
Pick48 Rnd2 Kris Jenkins
A want over a need in Round 2, Pick 16: Kris Jenkins adds an edge rusher while interior defensive lineman, safety and other spots keeps waiting.
Pick96 Rnd3 Cam Hart
Cam Hart in the 96th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick114 Rnd4 Zak Zinter
A clean, defensible pick in the 114th overall pick with a little surplus value in Zak Zinter. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick116 Rnd4 Johnny Wilson
Johnny Wilson at the Round 4 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick153 Rnd5 Nehemiah Pritchett
Value with a capital V on Nehemiah Pritchett in pick No. 153, a genuine coup. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick212 Rnd6 Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at No. 212 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick236 Rnd7 Nathan Thomas
A tidy bit of business in pick 236, where Nathan Thomas graded well above the range. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
