Draft Grade — Jaguars

FutureB-
Grand theft in No. 36: the Jaguars steal Burden III and grade out a B. You build a draft on nights like this. Luther Burden III had no business being available in pick No. 36, and the Jaguars did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up. Every board in the league had Oladejo lower, and that gap is the story. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the safety spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Mason Graham
Mason Graham in No. 5 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick36
Rnd2
Luther Burden III
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Luther Burden III in the Round 2 slot, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick70
Rnd3
Harold Fannin Jr.
Harold Fannin Jr. at the 70th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick88
Rnd3
Ozzy Trapilo
A tidy little value on Ozzy Trapilo in pick No. 88, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick107
Rnd4
Zy Alexander
They let Zy Alexander come to them and pounced at pick 107. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick126
Rnd4
Oluwafemi Oladejo
They jumped the gun on Oluwafemi Oladejo, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick142
Rnd5
Luke Kandra
They went early on Luke Kandra in the 142nd overall pick, and the value did not follow. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick182
Rnd6
Ollie Gordon II
Ollie Gordon II slid further than he should have, and slot 182 is lovely value for the running back. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick194
Rnd6
Tyler Cooper
Tyler Cooper in the Round 6 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick221
Rnd7
Donovan Edwards
They robbed the room for Donovan Edwards here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The roster fit checks out.
