Scout DRAFTING FOR THEJaguars

Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall
B-
ValueB-

TradesB-
FutureB-
The Jaguars cashed the board's mistake on Davis: B-. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Jaguars were there to profit. Tyler Davis, the No. 96 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 4, Pick 14. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Lindberg pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Amarius Mims
In the 17th overall pick they get an anchor for the offensive line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick48
Rnd2
T'Vondre Sweat
T'Vondre Sweat at Round 2, Pick 16 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick79
Rnd3
Christian Haynes
Christian Haynes at pick No. 79 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick96
Rnd3
Roman Wilson
Roman Wilson is a better player than pick 96 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick114
Rnd4
Tyler Davis
They will replay Tyler Davis at the Round 4 slot for years; that is how good the value is. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick116
Rnd4
Justin Eboigbe
Justin Eboigbe in slot 116 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick155
Rnd5
Braelon Allen
A tidy little value on Braelon Allen in the 155th pick, a step better than break-even. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick195
Rnd6
Ethan Driskell
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Ethan Driskell at No. 195 is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick211
Rnd6
Jalen Green
Jalen Green at No. 211 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. It fills a real need, too.
Pick237
Rnd7
Chad Lindberg
They jumped the gun on Chad Lindberg, taking him earlier than his grade liked. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
