Grand theft in the 70th pick: the Jaguars steal Amos and grade out a A-. The trade table was a mismatch, and the Jaguars were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.
A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. However the rest shakes out, Amos at that price is a win they earned. The Jaguars clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Ashton Jeanty
In the 5th overall pick they get an every-down engine for the run game. A real need, handled.
Pick70
Rnd3
Trey Amos
A cornerback of that caliber at slot 70 is the definition of value, full stop. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
