Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Jaguars: B-.

The one they had to fix is still broken. The Jaguars left linebacker untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

Every board in the league had Davis lower, and that gap is the story. That Muhammad pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Taliese Fuaga
In the 17th pick they get a blindside protector. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick60 Rnd2 Johnny Wilson
They liked Johnny Wilson enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 60. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick79 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
A conviction pick on Sedrick Van Pran at pick 79 that the board grades a round light. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick91 Rnd3 Tykee Smith
They paid sticker price for Tykee Smith in slot 91, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick96 Rnd3 Braelon Allen
Braelon Allen at Round 3, Pick 33 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick114 Rnd4 Max Melton
A straight-up fair deal on Max Melton at the 114th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick116 Rnd4 Khyree Jackson
No drama and no debate, Khyree Jackson went about where he belonged in pick No. 116. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick155 Rnd5 Justin Rogers
They paid up for Justin Rogers at the Round 5 slot when waiting would have done the job. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick195 Rnd6 J.C. Davis
A reach for J.C. Davis in pick No. 195; a little patience would have been rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick211 Rnd6 Sheridan Jones
Sheridan Jones in No. 211 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick237 Rnd7 Jabbar Muhammad
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jabbar Muhammad at Round 7, Pick 17. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
