Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall C-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesF FutureD
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Jaguars to a C-.

There is reaching, and then there is Jaxson Dart at Round 6, Pick 31. The Jaguars jumped the board by 32 and dared it to prove them wrong.

On value alone, Neal makes the weekend a net positive. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.

With interior defensive lineman, cornerback and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on defensive back is the choice that costs them.

The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 JC Latham
In the 17th overall pick they get protection for the quarterback. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick28 Rnd1 Xavier Worthy
Xavier Worthy at pick 28 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick119 Rnd4 James Williams
No drama and no debate, James Williams went about where he belonged in the 119th pick. It fills a real need, too.
Pick128 Rnd4 Malachi Moore
A surprising call. With interior defensive lineman, cornerback and other spots still to address, they spent No. 128 on Malachi Moore, a defensive back they were not short of.
Pick165 Rnd5 Gabriel Murphy
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Gabriel Murphy. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick206 Rnd6 Jaxson Dart
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jaxson Dart in Round 6, Pick 31, miles early. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick211 Rnd6 Devin Neal
They will replay Devin Neal at Round 6, Pick 36 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick249 Rnd7 Jackson Mitchell
Jackson Mitchell at the 249th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
