Draft Grade — Texans
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB FutureB-
Price should have been long gone. The Texans pounced, and earned a B-.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Texans were there to profit. Jadarian Price, the No. 61 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 3, Pick 26. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. They will need Ioane to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Olaivavega Ioane
They paid up for Olaivavega Ioane at the Round 1 slot when waiting would have done the job. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick38 Rnd2 Emmanuel Pregnon
No edge and no loss on Emmanuel Pregnon in No. 38; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
Pick59 Rnd2 Lee Hunter
The board had cheaper options than Lee Hunter at slot 59, and it noticed. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick69 Rnd3 A.J. Haulcy
A.J. Haulcy slid further than he should have, and Round 3, Pick 5 is lovely value for the safety. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick90 Rnd3 Jadarian Price
Jadarian Price in the 90th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick103 Rnd4 Jack Endries
Nothing to complain about; Jack Endries went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick165 Rnd5 Aaron Anderson
They let Aaron Anderson come to them and pounced at the 165th pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
