Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
The Vikings checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

There is reaching, and then there is Taurean York at slot 82. The Vikings jumped the board by 23 and dared it to prove them wrong.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Avieon Terrell
In No. 18 they get a ballhawk on the outside. More want than need.
Pick49 Rnd2 Jonah Coleman
Jonah Coleman in the 49th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick82 Rnd3 Taurean York
Taurean York at Round 3, Pick 18 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick97 Rnd3 Markel Bell
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Markel Bell. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick161 Rnd5 Louis Moore
Louis Moore at pick No. 161 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick194 Rnd6 Eric McAlister
A straight-up fair deal on Eric McAlister at the Round 6 slot, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick234 Rnd7 Jalon Daniels
Jalon Daniels at No. 234 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick240 Rnd7 DJ Harvey
DJ Harvey in Round 7, Pick 24 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
