Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesA- FutureB-
The Raiders answered their biggest question with Mendoza. Grade: B.

The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Fernando Mendoza, and the whole operation now runs on his development. The bottom line is a respectable B.

Louis has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. However the rest shakes out, Robertson at that price is a win they earned.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
In pick No. 1 they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick38 Rnd2 Caleb Tiernan
They went early on Caleb Tiernan in Round 2, Pick 6, and the value did not follow. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick59 Rnd2 Elijah Sarratt
They paid a round early for Elijah Sarratt in the 59th overall pick, more than the board wanted. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick67 Rnd3 Jake Golday
Jake Golday slid further than he should have, and slot 67 is lovely value for the edge rusher. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick102 Rnd4 Malik Muhammad
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Malik Muhammad at the 102nd pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick117 Rnd4 Kyle Louis
Kyle Louis at pick 117 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick134 Rnd4 Bud Clark
A tidy bit of business in the Round 4 slot, where Bud Clark graded well above the range. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick174 Rnd5 Le'Veon Moss
A real head-scratcher, Le'Veon Moss in No. 174 is miles ahead of his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick180 Rnd6 Marlin Klein
Marlin Klein in Round 6, Pick 1 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick183 Rnd6 Ted Hurst
They let Ted Hurst come to them and pounced at slot 183. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick219 Rnd7 Sawyer Robertson
Sawyer Robertson at the Round 7 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
