Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesC FutureA+
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Jets.

The Jets clearly saw something nobody else did in Haynes King, taking him 31 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. The Jakobi Meyers deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Caleb Downs
In No. 8 they get a downhill hitter at safety at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick33 Rnd2 CJ Allen
A conviction pick on CJ Allen at the Round 2 slot that the board grades a round light. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick39 Rnd2 Quincy Rhodes Jr.
They went early on Quincy Rhodes Jr. in Round 2, Pick 7, and the value did not follow. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick101 Rnd4 Monroe Freeling
They reached into another round for Monroe Freeling, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick183 Rnd6 Evan Stewart
By-the-book stuff, Evan Stewart at slot 183 squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick200 Rnd6 Lee Hunter
Good price on Lee Hunter in pick No. 200, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick201 Rnd6 Roderick Kearney
A wild overpay on Roderick Kearney in the Round 6 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick236 Rnd7 Brett Norfleet
Brett Norfleet at No. 236 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick256 Rnd7 Kayin Lee
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kayin Lee. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick257 Rnd7 Haynes King
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Haynes King. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
