Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Eagles cashed the board's mistake on Neal: B-.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Eagles watched Julian Neal slide 18 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They will need Bell to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Cashius Howell
By-the-book stuff, Cashius Howell at Round 1, Pick 23 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick54 Rnd2 Eli Stowers
Eli Stowers in the 54th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick68 Rnd3 Skyler Bell
A reach for Skyler Bell in slot 68; a little patience would have been rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick98 Rnd3 Julian Neal
Julian Neal in No. 98 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick122 Rnd4 Will Lee III
Value with a capital V on Will Lee III in pick 122, a genuine coup. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick137 Rnd4 Jakobe Thomas
Jakobe Thomas in pick No. 137 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It fills a real need, too.
Pick151 Rnd5 Dametrious Crownover
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Dametrious Crownover in the Round 5 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick179 Rnd5 Febechi Nwaiwu
Good price on Febechi Nwaiwu in the 179th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick201 Rnd6 Justin Jefferson
No edge and no loss on Justin Jefferson in No. 201; it is a wash and a sensible one. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
