Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Bears robbed the room for Thieneman. Final grade: B-.

Somebody in pick No. 57 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bears sat still while Dillon Thieneman, the No. 34 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. They are betting Rutledge proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Olaivavega Ioane
In pick No. 25 they get a blindside protector at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick57 Rnd2 Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman in slot 57 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick89 Rnd3 Keylan Rutledge
They jumped the gun on Keylan Rutledge, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick129 Rnd4 Tyreak Sapp
Tyreak Sapp at pick 129 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick163 Rnd5 Jalen Farmer
Jalen Farmer at Round 5, Pick 25 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick239 Rnd7 Miles Kitselman
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Miles Kitselman at No. 239. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick241 Rnd7 DJ Harvey
The board had DJ Harvey higher than the 241st pick, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
