Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Packers spent Round 7, Pick 25 on Jack Westover, a name the board had a full 76 spots lower.

Chambers falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback and wide receiver still on the board.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
