If confidence were a draft strategy, the Chiefs would have aced it. Bryce Foster at the 197th pick is 43 spots clear of where he belonged.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They banked enough surplus on Sadiq to cover a lot of smaller sins.

They bet on numbers rather than a single high pick.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
