Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Raiders found their guy under center in Dart: B-.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Raiders spent their marquee pick on Jaxson Dart, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

Reaching for Dart left real value on the table behind him. The McMillan pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick6 Rnd1 Jaxson Dart
They reached a country mile for Jaxson Dart at the 6th pick, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick37 Rnd2 Tetairoa McMillan
Taking Tetairoa McMillan in pick No. 37 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick68 Rnd3 Xavier Watts
Xavier Watts in Round 3, Pick 4 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick108 Rnd4 Jordan Phillips
By-the-book stuff, Jordan Phillips at the 108th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick143 Rnd5 Hollin Pierce
A reasonable price with a little left over, Hollin Pierce in No. 143. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick180 Rnd6 Raheim Sanders
Raheim Sanders in pick 180 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick213 Rnd6 Bilhal Kone
Value said wait; Bilhal Kone in the Round 6 slot says they were not listening. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick215 Rnd6 Jamon Dumas-Johnson
A real head-scratcher, Jamon Dumas-Johnson in slot 215 is miles ahead of his ranking. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick222 Rnd7 Luke Lachey
Nice patience on Luke Lachey, who had no business lasting to pick No. 222. The roster fit checks out.
