gomiami787 DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Chiefs kept it disciplined and banked a B-. The rest of the league will want that one back. Jarquez Hunter tumbling to the Chiefs in slot 226 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
They will need Brinson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
The skill positions did well by the weekend.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Colston Loveland
In pick 31 they get a moveable chess piece at tight end at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick63
Rnd2
Cameron Williams
They paid sticker price for Cameron Williams in the 63rd pick, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick66
Rnd3
Omarr Norman-Lott
They took Omarr Norman-Lott at par in pick 66, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick95
Rnd3
Tez Johnson
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tez Johnson. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick133
Rnd4
Kobe King
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 4 slot with a little surplus value in Kobe King. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick226
Rnd7
Jarquez Hunter
Jarquez Hunter at No. 226 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick251
Rnd7
Brant Kuithe
They paid a round early for Brant Kuithe in Round 7, Pick 35, more than the board wanted. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick257
Rnd7
Warren Brinson
Warren Brinson at the 257th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
